Family Therapy

Family Therapy at the St Albans Psychology Clinic

Family therapy offers a space for families to slow things down, reflect together, and better understand what may be happening within their relationships. It focuses on how difficulties may develop and are maintained within family interactions, rather than placing responsibility on one individual.

It can also be helpful when a child or young person is experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, when families feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, or when there has been stress, loss or significant change within the family.

At St Albans Psychology, family therapy is collaborative, thoughtful and tailored to the needs of each family. Sessions may involve the whole family or different family members at different times, depending on what feels most helpful.

Family therapy at St Albans Psychology is provided by experienced associate clinicians who are trained in family and systemic therapy. All associates work in line with professional and ethical standards and are carefully selected to ensure a high-quality, thoughtful approach to work with families.
